MC cable in Skilled Nursing Homes

I used a new sub contractor on a small job, adding 21 20amp emergency circuits to a subacute facility( three beds per room). the problem is he used standard MC Cable from the new emergency load center to each hospital grade outlet. each run is about 50 to 75 feet in length. It is my understanding that Article 517 you cannot use any type of flex cable. Is this true? Is there any solution, besides tearing out all the MC cable and installing EMT

Chief you really did not give enough information.

Article 517 does not prohibit flexible cable methods for all installations.

Bob was not trying to be off the wall just wanted to if they put in green HCF or I thought it was green. I am no big expert but I read that AC was ok in hospitals 517.13

I know Wyatt I just could not resist. :)

But Chief had not asked about the grounding issues that 'green' AC addresses.

It IMO comes down to the specific use of the circuit.

AC, MC, EMT, RMC, FMC etc. all are allowed in health care facilities depending on the area and use of the circuit.

Thanks for the response, these bedrooms are being upgraded to skilled nursing rooms, some of the people may require resperators or other critical electronic equipment, this equipment is required to be on a emergency circuit. I believe Article 517 states that a secondary ground is required. Would AC cable meet this requirement for a lenth of over 6 feet

Chief, you would need to use type HFC or HCFC which are types of AC.

Becareful if any of these circuits are on an Critical Branch, read 517.30(C)(3)
