mc cable on the outside of the house?

I've seen it directly buried on a couple of jobs, like to feed a detarched garage, yard lighting, etc., as if it was UF.
 
I received the response from the manufacturer in regards to MC installation.

I have never is this tread disputed that things have changed with the 2008.:smile:

I have very carefully referenced both the 2002 and 2005 NEC (It may go back further, I have not checked.)

Thats is very hard to believe as that is not what the code allowed for at least 6 years.

Any area that is still under 2002 or 2005 without amendment must accept standard MC in wet locations as that is what the NEC says. Even the manufacturer admits that previous code cycles allowed it.
