mc four conductor

Having read 200-6 on identification of conductors would anyone consider it a terrible offense to use 12/4wg mc cable(red,black,blue,white,green) for two circuits with separate neutrals by using the blue conductor as the second neutral? Would any of you inspectors turn it down?

Pierre: Reference 250.119. Where does it state the blue wire can not be re-identified, and used as a neutral?

200.6(E) would not permit this installation unless conditions of maintenance and supervision ensure that only qualified persons service the installation.

MC cable is available with separate grounded conductors for each ungrounded conductor. You can also get super neutral MC that has an over sized grounded conductor.

Thanks Bennie, I am glad someone is awake, 250.119 is EGC, and the question addresses a neutral conductor.

200.6(A)&(E) can be referenced as to the allowance of reidentifying the phase colored conductor for a grounded conductor.

Curt and Pierre: You are correct. However there is no way an installation can be assured to only be serviced by qualified persons.
The rule is impossible to enforce, therefore it should be deleted from the book.

I agree with you but if I didn't include the exception in my post someone would have brought it up. :)
