Bob, I apologize. I am a theory guy and went off on a theory tangent. You sling wire professionally and know what actually works in the field.
The whole point of MCAP is that you cut the ground/bonding wire at the end of the armor, and use appropriate connectors to provide the ground path. Any other approach is making extra work.
I am sure that I read that one could _choose_ to bring the ground/bonding into the box. Okay, I found it:

So you _can_ if you wish to make extra work, bring the wire into the box and terminate it in the box.
However I now see that this permission to terminate the wire in the box does not imply that the wire is suitable for bonding in a plastic box. In fact now I don't know if there is any approved way of terminating MC (ordinary or MC-AP) in a plastic box if that box is not listed for metallic wiring methods.
