So I posted a while ago about a failed inspection
He failed it again for me not having the temporary far enough away from the building.
I told him it’s only 2 inches off the wall, but it’s not attached and the builders fine was going around it cause that’s what he wants and he says he doesn’t care. They’re gonna hit it…..

Well, I ended up calling the chief inspector today he said I was right withthe pictures I sent ……

I reached out and told the inspector that I talked to his boss I didn’t give names or locations, but his boss that I’m right I would like to proceed nicely with getting this temporary service approved so it doesn’t cost me more money or hold up the job

He has not responded back….
I’ll submit the pictures
The chief Electrical Inspector said well he could’ve possibly called you on not having a platform. It’s not a grade yet I said yeah I could’ve even though it will eventually be graded, but he didn’t even dispute that and if he did dispute it, the guy could just backfill it……

This is now holding me up, so I now have to set temp pulse which is gonna cost me money that I wasn’t planning on has anyone retroactively sued the Inspectir for damages for his negligence and not allowing a compliant install?

This is not his first time and this is not his last time so talking with the inspector he didn’t give me another code reference to shut him up on another job he is disputing me.

This is probably more of a rant than anything, but what should I do?

So what is the issue or code violation? Even if it was, is there an issue with a temporary atached to a building?
No violation he just does not like it. I am going to challenge him.

Going to document it- and after I get 2 more denies cause he just being an ass I’ll turn him into the building department for malicious intent- show how much money he costing me and next time i will sue the mini for damages-
Then request for a new inspector cause he not qualified

I have no problem fighting usually it never holds anything up—- but it’s temp power so while projecting is waiting- just going to document with loss and let his boss know——
And I am watching him- he wants to be a thorn but I’ll be a knife

I had an inspector who was a real jerk...Didn't return phone calls or texts, would only inspect on Mondays, etc, etc...Had a chat with the chief inspector at the state level.
Now he comes out whenever I call, answers my texts, and is actually pleasant to talk to.

Go figure.

When I had an issue, I went to the town manager, who in turn spoke with the head of all inspectors, who then spoke with the electrical inspector. I later heard from another inspector that he asked to never inspect my jobs again. I applauded his decision. I had constant problems with him about stuff that he wanted done--- not code issues or code issues that he was misinterpreting.

that’s what I’m doing. I just left a message with his boss and I told him today I need a green tag cause it’s holding my project up and my Customer is mad and it’s a Subdivision they need to get going someone’s gonna be held liable.

I’m gonna go buy dinner for all my other inspectors that are nice and work with you. Really appreciate that.
One inspector that disputed my issue and took it to the state told me more power to you I like it when people do that so when I talk to the state inspector man, I talked that guy up. He was awesome for him to tell me to challenge him and he accepts it that shows good character

Well, his boss is in an email with me now and the chief Electrical Inspector for the state reached out to him like he could’ve called me maybe on working Clarence cause it’s not backfilled yet so and also maybe maximum breaker height since it’s not backfilled but he didn’t even call me on that he just doesn’t like that it’s subject to physical damage at that location, but I argued hell I could back into a meter that I can’t see versus something. That’s right in front of me

Guys just out for me, but I’m not letting it slide neither on this one nor all future ones

Then tell him you'd be happy to build it any way he's willing to pay for.

Absolutely do. Kowtowing sets a bad precedent for future inspections.

I have formally challenged inspections four times, and "won" every time.
I’m on my third lol I don’t know if that means I do stuff a little different to raise their eyebrows or if I just make them mad

He still messing with me over here. We have a letter of reconnect so they don’t have to inspect on a reconnection if I have to change a meter or anything and he said he was gonna do a letter and now he’s saying well I’m not doing a letter I thought you were doing a letter reconnect And I’m like it’s a new service. There’s nothing to reconnect. It’s a new connection!!!!

Oh well, that’s life
At least his communicating with me now I’ve been trying to text him for like two months on other jobs and now he’s text me like 15 times today
