Means of Egress Question

Hello all,

I had a question about means of egress inside an MCC room. I was told by my colleagues that two means of egress are required for an MCC room with a 1200A MCC that is at least 6 feet wide. I want to confirm this with NEC code. Does anyone know where inside NFPA70 I could find something about this?

Your answer lies in 110.26(C)(2). But it matters which code cycle applies in your local area. The rules changed several times over the last few code cycles.

Please note that the requirement is for access to and egress from the working space, not the room in which the equipment is located. From a practical standpoint, that is often a distinction without a difference. But you should read the entire article, including its exceptions, before you come to any conclusions.
