As per Code , is it accepted to cross mechanical pipes above cable tray ? If yes please provide the code reference.

392.18 just states that there must be adequate access and sufficient space. If the pipe is running like 6 inches above the cable tray then you might have a problem.

There is no specific clearance stated. Just n the above mentioned clause. So once again, more vague and subjective language from the NEC. Who knew?!

I don't want to see a 10000 page code book and that is what it would probably take to cover details that would eliminate most of the subjective rules.

I don't see a pipe crossing, even a 1" above the tray as a issue that would cause problems installing the cables and/or conductors in the tray. Now if there are a number of pipes next to each other covering more than a foot or two of the tray, it would be a bit more difficult to install the cables.

Actually my concern was , if high pressure chilled water line is passing above the tray , it will be subject to leakage , in code any clarification regarding this.

There is nothing for cable trays. I remember reading something about needing a catch pan or tray for water lines running over something... pretty sure you're good. Just use common sense.

Tray cable is suitable for use in wet locations.
