Medallion on flush canopy

how would you install medallion on flush mounting braket .( around braket with hook in the side ) do i have to install the fan first then gluethe medallion to the celling . how about regular fan braket . any tips will be great .

hi.. the fan bracket should hold the medallion to the ceiling as well. Unless it is really big dia medallion.

In other words, the medallion goes up first, against the ceiling, except for whatever it will fit around.

On the big ones, I put a (small) bead of liquid nails around the edge of the medallion and stick it to the ceiling before installing the fixture.
Before it fully cures, I press the edge of the medallion against the ceiling to make it nice and flat.

Some of these medallions have such a deep recess in the middle, you can't get to the screws on the edge of a paddle fan's canopy to tighten them. That type of medallion simply isn't compatible with paddle fans.
