I am working on a project that involved MV cable sizing.

For LV cable there are many worksheets/apps that help you in selecting cables. However, I have almost found nothing like those of LV cable. Does anyone here know of a software or spread sheet to select the MV cable size? I have not even been able to find MV technical data like impedance. So if anyone knows some links to those data I appreciate it if he can share with everybody here.

Depending on the voltage, they are just a few tables away in the code book from what you use normally for LV.

All the way up to 35kV.

Not a lot of cheat sheets, because it is pretty specialized.
 
Volt drop is the usual concern. mV per unit length remains the same no matter what the voltage.

Where you may run in to problems is stock cable sizes. OK, a smaller cable will do what you want, but it’s not a stock item and has to be made to order.
I fell foul of this, it was cheaper to order a cable twice the size than order one that wasn’t stock.
 
Thanks for the response. The reason to have an app is because it makes it easier and faster to find the answer and more importantly your mistakes will be less.
