Uncasville is only a 3-1/2 hour ride for me. Can't believe the casino hotel rates are so high.
I can't believe it either, but they're getting it, so more power to them. The opening of the Rhode Island casino had no affect on the rates. I'll chalk it up to the "richest state" per capita, which is really amazing given how much poverty there is here.
For the cost of two weekend nights in CT (an hour drive from me), I can pay my flight to Vegas, pay for three weeknights stay at Monte Carlo (pretty nice for dollars spent), and pay for my meals and taxis.
Gambling dollars are the same here or Vegas, but in Vegas I get that vibe I so love

To those going next weekend, wish I could be there and have fun, but previous plans prevent me from doing so.
I've also heard recently that Foxwoods is likely to default on their note for the recently completed MGM Grand come February. We'll see.
