Megger standard for 600V cable

hey guys, I thought IEEE 400 was the standard when it comes to megging power cables, come to find out it's only for 5KV rated cables and up.

anyone know what the standard is for the lower voltage ones??

That would be covered in one of the color (IEEE) books, depending on the type of facility. You have a specific question? You can always reference ANSI/NETA Testing specs if you just need a reference.

so is the NETA the governing standard nowdays?

Not really, it is a recognized ANSI standard, however, only required to be followed if the specs require it. There is no "law" that says what your minimum IR needs to be, just recomendations from ANSI, IEEE, NETA, ICEA, ,etc....
