Hello Friends,
I bought a aluminum and steel gazebo. I saw it at Costco and could not resist.
I want to be able to install a ceiling fan and a couple recepts. It has a bracket installed for the fan.
The gazebo is full of channels that I can easily fish cable through. Any thoughts on this? My only other choice is EMT. Kinda takes away from the charm.
What is your opinion using the channels vs the conduit? Or better asked "can the channels be used as raceways"?
Thanks in Advance John

The channels would only be used as raceways if you were pulling individual conductors in them, not cables. Pulling NM cables in them is fine as long as you comply with 344.10.

Thanks Rob,

That is what I was trying to convey in my post. I just don't type very well.

The question that begs to be asked,

Can you install NM cable in this gazebo or do you need to install UF wiring method? ;)

That's why I cited 334.10. Not sure if we can even answer that question.

I vote for UF....gotta be a damp location...
Enjoy:smile:

Yep, it is real nice. Try reading the instructions. You know Chinese conversion to english.
I did use UF and it is GFCI protected.
I appreciate all the feedback.......John

Ps...I need about ten people to help me lift this monster onto the posts.......LOL

Lifting the top?

Lifting the top?

I think I bought the same gazebo. I have put it together and now need to lift the top on to the posts. You wanna share your experience on doing that? How many people did it take? Any tips or gotchas?

Thanks in advance.
