a metal racway system installed in the washing area of a car wash must be spaced at least how far from the wall????

Re: metal raceway system

This looks like a test question so I will help out. :p
You start with the almighty index and go to "Wet locations" and one of the entries will lead you to 300-6 (c). [This may be numbered differently in newer editions of the Code because they switch everything around in order to force everybody to buy a copy of the latest edition.]
There you will find a requirement for 1/4" space but an exception for plastic stuff ["nonmetallic" = newspeak for plastic].

Re: metal raceway system

Principles of 300.6(C) would probably apply for metal raceway systems, - 1/4 inch right?

Re: metal raceway system

(C) Indoor Wet Locations. In portions of dairy processing facilities, laundries, canneries, and other indoor wet locations, and in locations where walls are frequently washed or where there are surfaces of absorbent materials, such as damp paper or wood, the entire wiring system, where installed exposed , including all boxes, fittings, conduits , and cable used therewith, shall be mounted so that there is at least a 6-mm (?-in.) airspace between it and the wall or supporting surface.
Exception: Nonmetallic raceways, boxes, and fittings shall be permitted to be installed without the airspace on a concrete, masonry, tile, or similar surface.
In bold is by me to show that it does cover race-ways.
