Metal ring on PVC box

I see a lot of 4" square PVC boxes installed w/ metal device adapter rings.
Is this code compliant?

As long as the ring is bonded/grounded I see no issue with it.

Using a PVC ring on a metal box is a cheeper way to do IG circuits.

PVC boxes are listed for MC connectors? Do you have a pic of the product? Any plastic box I have seen had straps for Romex.


You were refering to a plastic box with a metal raised single gang or 2gang plaster ring?

Why would they use a metal plaster ring ?

Maybe cause there tired of the being defaced by a roto-zip, frankly Its just a guess ...

I ran across a plastic raised cover on a metal box just the other day, and demo'd it...
