In a install of a PVC junction box

Connectors entering the box would not be allowed to be metal unless you use s grounding bushing

I saw a service done with SEU. The load of the meter to the panel was sleaved in PVC.
The sleave stopped short of the panel inside the dwelling by about a foot and went from a PVC female adapter to a metal two hole squeeze connector to choke the SEU before entering the panel with s two hole squeeze connector.
Is the metal squeeze connector at the end if the PVC conduit not correct ?

Thank you

Ok. Riddle me this

A metal service head goes on a PVC conduit drop (line to the meter)?

Acceptable ??

Wondering ??

Thanks

In my opinion it can be argued that this section requires the SE connector to be grounded.

250.4 General Requirements for Grounding and Bonding.

(A) Grounded Systems.

(2) Grounding of Electrical Equipment.
Normally non–
current-carrying conductive materials enclosing electrical
conductors or equipment, or forming part of such equipment,
shall be connected to earth so as to limit the voltage
to ground on these materials.

NEC Article 100 said:
Equipment. A general term, including fittings, devices, appliances,
luminaires, apparatus, machinery, and the like used as a
part of, or in connection with, an electrical installation.

I have seen such service heads that have a place to bond them. I have no idea if they are listed for use on non metallic raeways or not, but do believe they would be required to be bonded if they are acceptable. A service head on a "sleeve" may not need to be bonded, but how often is the service head on a sleeve vs a raceway? If you ran SE cable inside and stripped the sheath before exiting via the service head, is it a sleeve or a raceway? Shouldn't the cable have to leave completely intact if it is just a sleeve?

Consider that a sleeve of metallic tubing that is only for physical protection would not require bonding.

What about the other way around? A PVC weatherhead on a metal conduit. I've seen PVC weatherheads that come with a clamp. What would be the purpose of the clamp, when ordinarily you would adhere the PVC weatherhead onto the PVC conduit?

If it weren't allowed on RMC, IMC or EMT, the only application I could think of, is if you are using it for temporary services and plan to re-use it.

Arlington weatherheads are marketed for use on PVC, RMC, EMT, etc. I would imagine they are also listed for the same though need to dig a little deeper to find out for sure. http://www.aimedia.co/media/spec-sheets/PVC106.pdf

250.86 exception 2

250.86 Other Conductor Enclosures and Raceways. Except
as permitted by 250.112(I), metal enclosures and raceways
for other than service conductors shall be connected
to the equipment grounding conductor.

Exception No. 2: Short sections of metal enclosures or
raceways used to provide support or protection of cable
assemblies from physical damage shall not be required to
be connected to the equipment grounding conductor.
