My take from the OP is that the POCO would not allow changing the present set-up at all . . .

I can't in my wildest dreams imagine that the serving electric utility would not let you remove your facilities from their pole in install two free standing installation or an installation at two separate buildings. I would imagine that they would be very happy to get your old stuff away from their pole.
