So I do need a disconnect ahead of the meter stack that we were talking about in the other thread. I'm trying to figure out the design on this.

I'm not seeing anything that specifically is manufactured as a meter disconnect switch.

So my proposed design is, (for the sake of this discussion I'm going to use a theoretical load calc of 200A), 200A SE rated non-fused lockable disconnect, -> 4 meter stack -> 4ea 100A main disconnects. 3/0 copper for the SE conductors.

200A disconnect labeled METER DISCONNECT, NOT SERVICE EQUIPMENT. I would install a Type 1 SPD in the meter stack, and I would run 3 wire through the meter disconnect to the meter stack, and install the SSBJ in the meter stack, not the meter disconnect. But I would bond the grounded conductor to the meter disconnect enclosure, Correct?

I don't believe the meter disconnect requires OCP, and would in fact be a violation of 230.82(3)

If the load calc comes out to say 200A, but there are 4-100A main breakers, according to 230.80, it appears that this would be permissible without any OCP in the meter disconnect.

Did I get this right?

Make sure PG&E accepts your design. Since the switch is ahead of the meter they will want it seal-able.

Why not just use modular metering? Get a a fusible switch or circuit breaker module and a 4 meter module. No extra wiring required.
