Will the POWER CO in your area approve meter mounted transfer switches ? ( what is your opinion of them ) ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Our utility, Ameren Illinois, will not permit them for two reasons. First none of there permitted meter sockets have a terminal for the neutral jumper that is required between the meter mounted transfer switch and meter socket. Second, their smart meters have temperature sensors on the meter blades to detect a poor connection between the blades and the socket and the meter mounted transfer switch add a second set of that type of connection that is not monitored for temperature.
