I told him I thought the whole state has already changed over to 08.
He say's " Well I am an Inspector and nobody has told me".

I think I will write him a polite letter and leave it at the office.
This will give him time to think about it. Instead of having a ; I'm right, No your not I'm right situation.

If you call the state and talk to Ron Chilton , 919-661-5880,, the head electrical inspector for the state, he will tell you what you need. He can either call the inspector for you or you can call the inspector and tell him you spoke with Ron and that we are under the '08. Tell him to call the state to verify.

He is confused because some of the amendments are not effective-- as the change in the arc fault-- until Jan. 1, 09.

I wrote the inspector a polite but to the point letter.
I told him that he was right for 05 but wrong for 08.

He called my voice mail when he recieved the letter. He still didn't understand and thought he was right.
He was reading the 08 and was confuseing a snap switch with a breaker.
So by the time I called him back he had called the state head inspector, his boss.
And the state head inspector sided with us.
So the local inspector said the boss said it's okay, so I aproove it.

But then he says call the customer and tell them because they are worried about it.
