Can you run a homerun to a microwave then come out of it to an exhaust hood across the kitchen?

Yes, as long as art.422.16(B)(4) is not violated and the installation instructions for the microwave don't specify an individual circuit.

Manufactures should not even be allowed to make this call, leave it up to the NEC. IMSO of course.

I totally agree. When I see a wine cooler that is 3 amps and calls for an individual cir. it makes my blood boil.

They're doing the CYA thing. Using too large a blanket.

Think about it though, the average person that buys an appliance just plugs it in... I see what your saying, but I agree with Dennis. Just makes your blood boil.

I am confused, I thought you guys where electricians that earned livings installing electrical equipment.

Me ... I would be fine if every appliance required a individual branch circuit.

Same with the hot tub that require a full size EGC, install it and charge for doing so.

Because, i'm talking residential, I cant just pipe a new circuit everytime the HO buys something... :) Yes, I agree what your saying, but, on the same note, sometimes I just wanna get r' done and move on to the next job.

And think of the Earth,.. all that copper so that "Big Electrical Contractors" get rich ,.. I say we milk every circuit for what it's worth...
