Thanks. What type of mine is it and what equipment is the new substation running?

coal
it runs a longwall mining system, a 1500' shear/conveyor/roof supports that advances on hydraulic jacks as the shear cuts along the face, 4-5' x 1500' cut
long conveyor belts, miles
small miners that prep the seam for the longwall
all told 25-30 MVA avg

takes 4-5 subs to support 1 mine

the subs feed 2 mva load centers that reduce to 4160, 1000
or 480

How long did it take to commission? What's standard protocol on commissioning new equipment such as the pictures of the substation?

Never seen a built in test panel. How does the variac test current elements? Or is that just for the UVs and such?

a test conductor is permanently looped thru the ct's and a current driven thru them via a series of selector

the Law requires weekly testing

Ahhh  How much % wise?

hard to say
total cost of sub 1.6-1.7 mil
xfmrs 600 k +
sg 200 k
structure/fuses/disconnects 200 k +
install/assembly 200 k
borehole/conductor 300 k
misc inhouse costs 100 k

I would guess 100 k difference including install
but remember, this is a temporary facility
tear down would be more $$$

A team of 3 to test/commission
We test xfmr, sg, etc during mfg 2 days depending on plant location
takes me a day to review in house: sc calcs, determine settings, etc
onsite 1-2 days usually, depending on issues
we check construction compliance with a checklist
we measure the ground beds
we have test sheets and trip everything by pushing current or applying voltage
