Minimum Conduit Spacing in Concrete Slab

I submitted a proposal on that issue a number of code cycles ago. The CMPs response was that if you had enough space to accommodate the conduit fittings such as locknuts, bushings or couplings you had enough space.

I really dont think it is an safety concern, but according to the section I cited the spacing would have to be maintained for the entire length of the raceway, underground raceways included.

My proposal would have required a specific spacing, but the panel said that if you could physically install the conduit you had enough space....that is the space between the conduits created by the couplings and other fittings is enough space.
