I am trying to determine if there is a minimum cover requirement for 2" PVC40 containing nonconductive fiber optic cable. It does not seem to be addressed in 770 and it is unclear if 300-5 applies. Any help would be appreciated.

And it’s best to be at 24” cover as that is the depth it’s expected be at. Otherwise the fiber optic locator (backhoe) will find it.

I think you are lucky in a lot of cases if they bury it all all. Sometimes they seem to just hide it in the grass like the cable installers do. :)

Often fiber optic is installed by a telecom utility and if on the utility side of the demark it’s not regulated by the NEC.
