What's the minimum required height for electric fence outside a house? (animal guard)How to find
it in NEC book?

Re: Minimum required height for electric fence

A fence shall not be less than 2.1 m (7 ft) in height or a combination of 1.8 m (6 ft) or more of fence fabric and a 300-mm (1-ft) or more extension utilizing three or more strands of barbed wire or equivalent. :D :D :D

Re: Minimum required height for electric fence

I don't think you will find any requirement in the NEC.

The general rule would be high enough that the cows can't walk over it. Or short enough that the rabbits can't crawl under and eat all the garden goodies :D

Set it too low, and when the weeds grow up, they will short it out and make it useless.

And don't listen to the country boys when they dare you to pee on it.

110.31 second paragraph :p

Re: Minimum required height for electric fence

110.31 talks about a fence to deter persons who are not qualified. How do you train a guard dog to be "qualified," so that the dog will be allowed inside the fence? :D

Re: Minimum required height for electric fence

Don't you have to erect guards around the fence if the 8' in 110.27(A)(4) is not met?

This is interesting.
