Greetings,

I know that the minimum size of a residential service is 100 amps and that it would be 60 amps for "Other" dwellings (Duplex)

I found the disconnect ratings in Article 230.79(C) and (D).

What I cannot find in the 2008 NEC is citation that is given for the minimum size of the service. Where in the "NEC 2008" is the verbiage?

I don't think there is any other section for size of service. The size of the disconnecting means is the determining factor (usually). So if you are required to have a 100 amp disconnecting means wouldn't you supply it with at least 100 amp conductors?

Exception to this is where there is more than one disconnecting means - then the supply conductors are allowed to be sized on load calculations.
