I have an application where an industrail control panel (UL508A listed) is install and supplied by a 480V service. The equipment manufacturer supplies cables with the equipment. The cables for the motor are rated 600V, but there are also cables provided for low voltage (24VDC) devices like position encoders and photo electric sensors that are rated 300V. Can all these wires be landed in the same industrail control panel? There is adequate space to maintain some distance between conductors but I find nothing in the code indicating what distance would be required.

fatbob,

1. The different voltages are allowed in the panel, and to be UL508A listed the panel layout is supposed to provide physical separation of the different voltages and layout of the entrance for each set of conductors to ensure there are segregated.
2. Looking at UL508A for field termination, it lists 2? as the minimum requirement for Class 2 circuits from other conductors over 150V to ground. You will need to confirm, however I will speculate that your devices are powered by a Class 2 source.
