I also missed a passing score by one point the first time I took it. What I did was go to the code book immediately after I got home from the exam to look up stuff I wasn't sure about from the closed-book part of the exam. When I took the exam the second time, many of those questions were on it, and I got them all correct. I passed my second attempt by a comfortable margin.
But I think the exam is now all open-book, so what I did won't help. I would suggest using Mike Holt's book before you re-test. I doubt you want to wait another six months if you fail it again.
