I had a call recently to work on a rooftop AC unit. The power is 480 VAC. There is no service disconnect at the unit or anywhere on the rooftop. I'm not familiar with the code but believe this has to be a violation of the code. Can anyone help shed light on this for me so I can get back to the Facilities Manager?

Take a look at 440.14 Exception (1). Does the facility that you are describing fit the specifications in the exception?
