mixed voltages in same conduit

have a job going on now where hired a sub contractor to run conduits for 25hp 3ph motor, and 24v dc & 24 ac control wires he proceded to put all in same conduit, he says it is not a violation just a common practice no to do ? can you specify ?

It depends. More than likely the control circuit is fed from a class 2 power supply, in which case the contractor is wrong.

2nd what peter said, not to mention that, depending on what the dc does, you could drive some control componbets crazy.
