MLO Lug Connections

Gotta admit, I have never seen any lug connections like this.

I have a few concerns about the lug connections off the angled bracket connected to the bus. Would anyone have a concern about this?
What type of installation is this called and why would this be used?

Typically I'm used to seeing the lugs for the cables connected directly to the bus.

Luckily this is de-energized and will remain so for the next few weeks.

I suppose this could be an accessory part produced by the manufacturer for bus expansion. I have not seen one before though.

its perfect. and i agree it is sold by the manufacture. what is your concerns? the angle does a great job of keeping the conductors off of the other busses. and look! the electrician didnt waste a whole roll of phase tape in one enclosure! awesome. i cannot blow up this picture though..if the fasteners are grade 5 or better and have belleveu/lock washers, its good to go.

Thanks All, Like I said never seen a connection like this. My concern was the lugs being bolted to the angled bracket, with the situation of the lugs sliding off the bracket and creating a short. Unfortunately the job site is 600 miles from where I'm at so its hard to tell sometimes. Luckily I'll be on site Monday morning for three weeks!

Why would it be any easier for them to slide of the bracket than off the bus?

If something is loose enough to slide off you will have other problems once you apply a load.
