Is there any height requirement for a mobile home pedestal? This would be the meter socket and provisions for six breakers that are on the outside of the trailer. There are several old pedestals that are only two feet out of the ground and looking for what the code requires.

Re: Mobile Home Pedestal

The code requires a height of 2 feet to the bottom of the panel,I don't have a code book close by so I'm not sure of the section.

Re: Mobile Home Pedestal

550.32(F) Mounting Height. Outdoor mobile home disconnecting means shall be installed so the bottom of the enclosure containing the disconnecting means is not less than 600 mm (2 ft) above finished grade or working platform. The disconnecting means shall be installed so that the center of the grip of the operating handle, when in the highest position, is not more than 2.0 m (6 ft 7 in.) above the finished grade or working platform.

Thanks that was what I was looking for. Has that been in the code for a long time?

Re: Mobile Home Pedestal

Oh max height did change in 99 if my memory is working right. ;)

Re: Mobile Home Pedestal

? was this a problem ? seems odd to single out mobiles  just how low were others trying to be ? In snow country (think thats what they call that white stuff that turns yellow or black in a few hours )even 2 feet hardly seems enough. In Fl (the plywood state)2 feet might make some since due to floods
