I and another electrician are tasked with wiring an enclosed trailer to be used as a mobile kitchen. I don't see a section in the NEC that I can refer to in calculating the load I need. A little background information on the setup: It will have two refrigerators, a freezer, at least three flourescent fixtures, outlets for these appliances, an exhaust fan in the ceiling, and two countertop with outlets. This whole setup will be powered by a portable generator. I'll let you guys discuss this and point me in the right direction.

Re: Mobile Kitchen

Sorry, but that's not how it works.

There are alot of folks on this site who have obtained a bit or more of knowledge in the Electrical field, and share it.

But if you are an Electrician, and there is another Electrician involved in your project, you should have some clue as to where to start in regards to calculating a load.

The NEC doesn't have a specific article for 'Mobile Kitchen'.

Post what you believe you should do, and we'll go from there...

Re: Mobile Kitchen

Edit: I don't usually do mobile anythings or generators so I'm retracting my comment.

bbso2k, These guys can be pretty demanding about whether or not someone is actually involved in the electrical industry. You've Identified yourself as a technition in your profile and that isn't very descriptive.

And you've essentially asked if we could provide a solution for your application without much in the way of you having figured anything out yourself.

Well, excuse me for not understanding the rules here. Anyway, the situation has been resolved and consider this subject 'closed'
