Are outside disconnects required for a modular home service as they are for mobile homes? A double wide has a footer and foundation. Thank you

If you are going to hook one up I would suggest you contact your local AHJ.

If it has a footer, foundation and wood siding ( anything other than metal) then they may ( probably will) let you mount a meter socket right on the home. They may also require the towing tongue be removed so it's not so mobile. I forgot to mention that's it needs to be on private property (not a park).

It's been so long since I have hooked one up that if I get a call tomorrow I would check with the local authorities.

If by "double wide" you really mean: originally had wheels/chassis (afaik modulars never have neither), and has the tell tale 2"x 3" HUD placard near a corner (modulars don't ever have those), then it is a manufactured/mobile home and 550.32 kicks in.
