in massacusetts, alot of fire dept now require a central station monitoring contract for the tampers of a sprinkler system in a non occupied building.
does anybody know if this is a NFPA regulation or a NFPA suggestion?
(Shall or Should)

Look at NFPA 72 - 8.3.7.1.1 refers to monitoring of fire detectors, waterflow , etc and uses the word "shall".
Does this help?

let me clareify , this building is a town building. DPW, with a master Box.
The master box transmits alarm conditions only. My understanding is that
you must monitor the tampers for supervisory conditions. via:central station.
chaining the gate valve is non longer aloud.the exception is that the building has 24 hour occupancy. i just can't find it in 72.

yes, you must have those tampers (and other supervisorys) monitored at a central station or other approved location as required by NFPA 72.
