I Was Checking Out A New Wiring Job At A Motel In Central Ill.
3 Story, Extened Stay. They Ran Home Runs To All Units On First Floor. Then They Came Out Of These Panels And Went Up To 2nd Floor. Out Of 2nd Fl. Panels They Fed 3rd Floor Panels. Where Is Code On This. Is This Allowed Because Load On Fisrt Panel Is Large Enough For 3 Units Or What. Ron

There is no limit to the number of panels that can be fed from a panel. As you have already posted the limiting factor for a panel is the calculated load. As long as the first panel is capable of carrying the calculated loads then you are OK.

Or a 12-ckt panel feeding an 8-ckt panel feeding a 4-ckt panel.

Or were the feeders running from panel to panel to panel?
