Can i put 2 motion detecters in parralel. Here is the deal, i need 2 motion detecters to cover an area about 80 feet wide to catch cars that set off a strope. Can they be connected together on same circuit without a problem ? All i want is 1 strope to go off no matter which one caused it .

No problem just check your wattage and make sure the motion detector is rated for whatever you trigger. The light MD are only good for 300 watts- I believe.

they only hit a 24 volt transformer to set off 2 fire alarm strobes to tell me a car entered area. My concern was linking them together. Gives my security team time to pick up there guns

motion detectors

I recall doing a setup with similar requirements-it involved motion detectors installed at each interior hall landing of a 3 story condominium-thes were to control the hall/landing lites when the occupants entered or left the building or their apts.
The answer was to use 3 "3-way motion detectors" and set it up as a 4-way sw/motion detector setup. As I recall I used intermatic 3way motion/occupancy sw's to do the job.
It worked beautifully.

I did not know they made it in a 3 way. All i care about is if either or both pick up a person or car that it sets off a strobe light to alert me. Have camera but cant watch screen every minute. I can not cover area in question with only one detector so simply taking the red wire from each and pigtailing. Might need set up sencers 1 at a time but was wondering if any other side effects.
