Doesn't appear to be rated for outdoors, I don't know what kind of enclosure you could put it in and still work. Are you thinking about inside an enclosed fixture?

I don't think that is designed to be installed in an enclosed fixture. Can you just install a motion sensor flood or is that a major change?

Its for a condo where you aren't really supposed to change anything on the exterior without approval. What im wondering about is how effective they will work in an enclosure because it looks like they are made to work in an open lighting fixture.

Something like this

Personally, I would get approval for an appropriate luminaire and install it in a proffessional manner.

I see the existing fixture now.... can you mount an outdoor rated box extender and stub up or down (or to the side) to a motion sensor?

Will a motion detector cover enough of the space that a person can see without waiting to get into the beam area?
