Key words: overheating for no clear: aka - clean up the air passages or fix the fan?

Reverse: run a 5 HP motor at 8 or 9 HP with a bigger fan ?

Seems there is enough air restriction that the bigger fan is moving well below it's designed rating amount of air, and maybe not all that much more then the internal fan on the motor being cooled actually moves.

Making a liquid cooling system for this actually may work better

At 100C, I'd disinclined to try thaat.....

I might have said "put your hand on the cooling fins at start up to feel for air flow while the motor is still cool."

100C is rather warm to the touch

Blisteringly hot. It is the temperature of boiling water.

The two most likely causes are over loaded motor.
But if it was this would be reflected in the current draw
And it isn't, so I do not think it is over loaded.

That leaves just over heating due to not adequate cooling.
possibly exacerbated by local weather conditions.

Can you significantly increase cooling air flow thru the motor ?
