I have a design question concerning 480V lighting used in a parking lots on 12ft poles. I read from Article 210.6C and D that voltages of 277V to ground and below are acceptable. I have the handbook and also find that they better explain this as well. Another gentleman and myself are debating this issue. Can you shed some light? Here is what I will have.... From a 277/480V panelboard (grounded Wye) I am taking 480V circuits (2pole) out to my lighting. If I am reading this correctly, I am not exceeding 277V to ground (from one leg to ground) and am not exceeding 600V between conductors. Is this design acceptable or do I need to drop back to 277V (1pole) for my circuits? The poles in question that we are concerned about at 12ft's (or for that matter, anything below 22ft). Thanks
