mounting lights to metal decking

im up here in massachusetts and Rhode Island i have used tools to punch into the decking specifically for mounting lights from the metal coorigated decking can anyone from this area shed light upon this please

They allow it here for the most part. But logic says to fasten to the low point of the corrigation
