no i don't have any external drawings , what i do have is in work and its a small line diagram made by the elctrician who wired it years back who is not there anymore.
Well, if you could scan and post it, we would would certainly take a look at it... but being uncertain of the detail, I don't know how much help it would be.

Regardless, what I would be doing is trying to determine what is electrically different between the condition where it don't function electrically and when it does after the mechanical "nudge". Logic dictates something is different (besides the mechanical "nudge" :D) When you discover what is different, that would be a major clue as to what the problem is... :)

If you intend to troubleshoot and repair this you'll need to find and understand how the drivers that power motors, solinoids or whatever else work and test those. From what I can gather it doesn't sound mechanical.

Smart $ has posted a lot of really good stuff on this, limit switches, makes a lot of sense.

If it worked for years I highly doubt adjusting the limits was the right direction to go.

Hi Bob,

What causes you to say that? It sounds to me like the electro-mechanical end is working. Limit controls are a common failure sourse.

Edit: I don't mean to say that it might not be a failed switch as opposseed to an adjument of one.
