Had a 400 amp meter base supplying 2-200 amp disconnects behind meter base inside a residence. A generator was installed with a service rated transfer switch/disconnect outside. One of the inside panels now becomes a sub panel with isolated neutrals and an added egc. I now have one service panel inside and one outside. Is this permissible?

Yes. That’s my concern. Can’t find anything in 230 that would exempt this installation from being grouped together. Is 230.72B applicable in this situation since it’s a residence? I don’t think so but am open to other’s interpretations. Is a generator for a residence an optional standby service as pertains to this article? Thanks

Can you take the MBJ out of the ATS and label it EMERGENCY DISCONNECT. Keeping your inside panel as the service disconnect, If your on 2020.
