moving elevator to emergency power

I have been asked to wire an existing elevator in an assisted living facility from normal power to emergency power.
It is 480 volt 32 amp 3 phase 25 hp currently on a 100 amp normal power branch circuit, car light disconnect mounted right beside it.
Generator has plenty of capacity and it seems like it would be a simple enough matter to remove the normal power and bring emergency power into existing disconnects and be done with it.
I have not gone as far as filing the permit yet to see if they will require an engineered drawing, but get the feeling I am going to get blindsided by something I don't know. Anybody have experience in this area?

Many thanks.

If it's in the city of Asheville yes, if not probably. If it comes under DFS yes. Department of Labor (Elevator AHJ in NC) will probably want to know as well.

In any case I wouldn't want to take on the liability of an Elevator design as an EC.
