Moving vs Splicing GEC for new SE ATS

Hello,

I need to move my GEC and water pipe bonding for an ATS installation that will become the first disconnect. I thought it was against code to splice the GEC that connects the ground bar with the service entrance panel. However, I can't find this after reading through 250. I can't remember if I was just taught to run a new GEC (or move it) in a class as a best practice or if it's actually a hard requirement to avoid splicing.

You can splice it if you use an irreversible crimp connector.

Thanks. I missed it. I need to get a paper book instead of this ebook format. I see that it's clear in C (1). I had the "one continuous length" statement in my mind but forgot about the four exceptions.
