Hi, I’m new here. Many years ago I had a contractor install a Mr Slim split system in my bonus room above my garage. I still haven’t finished the room so not using the unit yet but it does function. I was looking inside my fuse panel and noticed that the contractor did not hook up the white wire to the neutral bar. Just the 2 hot wires and the ground are hooked up. Shouldn’t this wire be hooked up? It’s just hanging there. The insulation was never stripped off so I know it was never hooked up. Any help would be appreciated.

That said, without going into detail I will say the installation is likely correct as those units rarely need a neutral (white) connection so it does not need to be connected.
