hello all. we are installing a 6 gang meter section (very minimal loads on small units).
We are in a disagreement as to the minimum breaker sizes to units. We have done plenty multi gang meter sections over 6 gang with main disconnects, but I feel this is a different scenario as there is no main disconnect (only 6 meters).
As for the feeders to units we have fed in the past with as small as 40 amp unit feeds since there was a service disconnect ahead of them thus making units sub feeds rather than service disconnects.
We would love to be able to get away with 40 amp feeds to these as well but my feeling is that art 230.79 (D) applies here since there will be no main disconnect ahead of unit feeds thus making each units breaker a service disconnect. Any thoughts? Thanks
By the way load calc for entire 5 unit building plus laundry room comes to 73 amps, as I said units are small
