Here in Texas, the mechanical contractor does not need an electrical license.
A mechanical contractor is allowed to install "electrical connections supplying heating, ventilation, and cooling and refrigeration equipment, including any required disconnect... if the (work) is performed by a licensed HVAC contractor..."
All HVAC feeders are now routinely excluded from electrical bids....:roll:
