Multi Motor Connection

I have a question regarding multiple motors on a single branch circuit and how 430.53 applies.
I have two ? HP 120V motors each with FLC of 5.8 amps. I?ve calculated the conductor size as follows:

5.8*1.25 + 5.8 = 14.05A Yields #14.

I?m trying to determine the OCPD. Table 430.52 states a 250% factor for FLC (using inverse time CB). My question is: Do I use the FLC of one motor (ie 5.8A) or the sum of both? (5.8 * 2 = 11.6A)

Re: Multi Motor Connection

but the question for starting two motors at the same time do you have mangatic switch or each motor have thermal overload protection ??

it will make the differnce there how you can do this way

for wires size i rather use the #12 because you did not mention the length.

and if starting both motors at the same time by breaker or mag switch ?? because the 250% factor based on magatic breaker and each motor have to have both running amps total and 250% for each motors .

let us know how you will do this one

Merci , Marc
