Multi-Unit Dwelling Calculation

Hi All,

I'm calculating the feeder size for a multi-unit dwelling. My question is, after I calculate VA and apply demand factors for general lighting and small appliance loads can I still apply the demand factors in "Section IV - art. 220.80" on the feeder ?????

No, the demand factors in Part IV (Optional Methods) would start with the total load, not the demand load figured from Part III.

Unless 220.84 applies but you cannot jump between the two in general.

If you apply 220.84, you must apply it to the total connected lighting and SA load, not the demand load from 220.42.
