I have landed a four unit complex complete rewire. My question is can I use the holt residental load calc program and just make everything times four. It is three equally sized unit plus the lanlords which is slightly larger. I am concernd about the overhead service. trying to keep the cost down and the fact of pulling might require a rigging setup. The total square footage of living space is 3200 sq/ft.

She also plans on having solar panels on the roof. Acording to the owner nothing is required from me. The solar company will handle the install.

Thanks for your help.

You can do that, but it's gonna give you a bigger service than you need. You can put in demands factors for stuff like electric ranges, for instance. For a 4 unit, it might not make that much of a difference anyhow.

thanks I started to break out the code book and have started calcs the old fashioned way with pencil and paper.

I just ran through the standard load calc for multi family dwellings. There will only be one electric dryer and one electric oven. Came out to 143.94 amps. Seems so small for so many people living in these quarters.

Does that number sound familiar to anyone experienced with a project like this?
